New York-based author and professor of cultural criticism Ben Ratliff has a distinctive way of writing about listening to music in the age of the cloud. His love of open-ended listening strategies – and, by extension, eclectic playlists – offers alternatives to the tendency, particularly prevalent on streaming platforms, to pair like with like. echoraum, Paul Wallfisch and invited guest musicians are dedicating a series of song evenings to a playful exploration of Ratliff’s 2017 book Every Song Ever, which will conclude at Wien Modern in the presence of the author.
