In many ways, 2020 is a remarkable year. We wouldn't necessarily have chosen this year to make over our website, which has been the same since 2012.

But (just a small anecdote on the side) the company that used to run our website switched business and decided to focus on the production of simulation puppets for medical training. We decided we would prefer a website and went in search of a new company, a new web design and new functions.

The result was nothing less than a complete makeover: for the first time, wienmodern.at has a webshop which allows you to buy your tickets online and print them at home. Filter categories such as Concert, Installation, Young Listeners, Free or Interactive will help you orientate yourself among the breadth of over 100 events. From the names in our online schedule, one click leads to all biographies of artists and ensembles, which were previously only available in the printed catalogue. Overall, you will find more photos and videos on the website, as well as more news and info surrounding the updates that the year 2020 brings – from the most recent guidelines for visiting the festival in times of the pandemic to the new Personal Pass.

It was no easy feat to bring all of this to you in time for the programme reveal and start of pre-sales on the 8th September 2020 (when the time comes, we will tell you all about the mysterious slowdowns of the pandemic-befallen cultural sector, but for now we have other things on our plate...). We are thankful for your patience in case you find any yellow excavators on the site during early days – we are working hard in the background. We would like to thank all involved, encourage you to leave feedback and we hope you enjoy exploring the new programme!
