Volkmar Klien transforms the grand staircase of the Konzerthaus into a resonance laboratory: three wooden beams are bent by a historical press, their groans picked up by a microphone, amplified and answered. "The machine listens, it presses, it pulls,“ Klien writes; „a spectacle of pressure and response, affection and resistance between wood, steel and digital hearing“.
