TOWERING SILENCE (Installation)

Ingrid Schmoliner – for the FAZ the "deeply awe-inspiring" discovery of Wien Modern 2019 – searched half the city, together with the Wien Modern team, for the perfect location for this new immersive production. She found what she was looking for 200 metres from the new Wien Modern office by the Stadtpark, but deep underground: the casemates under the Palais Coburg are part of the city's 16th-century fortifications. A place of silence, which lies at the heart of this piece, a collaboration with Danish bassist Adam Pultz Melbye. And by the way: the audience is allowed to lie down, too - as long as futon supplies last.
