After the sensational complete Schönberg performance by Quatuor Diotima at Wien Modern five years ago, at long last a worthy follow-up project has emerged: the downright magnificent Parisian quartet returns to Vienna with four concerts surrounding all four of Beat Furrer's string quartets (including the world premiere of the fourth). The first evening will be held in true festival fashion, with a wide range of works – from Schubert and Ravel to both quartets by Clara Iannotta and the long-awaited Furrer premiere – underlining the Diotimas' exceptional position in the music world.
